Oxford Review of Books | Call for Pitches
The ORB is now accepting pitches for its Hilary 2022 issue!
We are Oxford's leading cultural review and we welcome writing from all areas of intellectual life. Our contributors have gone on to write for The New Yorker, The Times Literary Supplement, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Literary Review, Financial Times, Jacobin, The Guardian and other outlets.
We are looking for book reviews, standalone essays and a variety of shorter pieces. Pitches shouldn’t be much longer than 300 words, and should give a clear idea of the topic and how you will approach it, as well as which books you are looking to review, if any. Send pitches in a word document to orbeditor@gmail.com by 11:59pm on Friday 17 December, 2021. Please send an additional writing sample, journalistic not academic, in a word document titled with your name and ‘writing sample’.

Call for Participation | International Spring School on the Philosophy, History and Sociology of Particle Physics | 13-20 March 22, Germany
We invite up to 30 graduate students and early career researchers from history, philosophy, sociology, and physics. The application process will be competitive and participants will be selected according to qualification and research focus.

Call for Papers | Graduate Conference in Political Theory | 22-23 April 22 | Stanford University
The political science graduate students at Stanford University will host a political theory conference on April 22-23, 2022. The format will be in-person, with the possibility of being hybrid depending on current events. Accepted graduate students will be invited to present their papers in panel format to an interdisciplinary group of faculty, post-docs, and students. Papers from all themes and topics in political theory will be accepted. Please submit an abstract of no more than 500 words using this form by 7 January, 2022. Further information can be found here.
Experience to Evidence: Theory Construction and Confirmation Seminar | 21-27 May 22 | San Diego, CA
All participants will receive a $4,000 stipend.
Meals and lodging (La Jolla Shores Hotel) will be provided for all in-person participants for the duration of the seminar.
Additional funding opportunities of up to $15,000 are available.
Participants will receive access to the lectures online prior to the in-person portion of the seminar.
